Shannon is a graduate student at the MIT Media Lab in the Synthetic Neurobiology group run by Ed Boyden. Her scientific interests range widely from directed evolution and neurobiology to microfluidics and hydrogels. In her spare time, she loves engaging the community in biology through mentoring, teaching, and volunteering with Street Bio. The Biota Beats project has revitalized her passion for recombining science with art.
